Access Statement

Heath Farm

There are three cottages at Heath Farm, sleeping 2, 4 and 6 guests. The cottages are all on ground level; access is by ramp and there are no steps. The two larger cottages are particularly suitable for people with varying degrees of disability and both have level entry wet shower rooms. The largest of the three, Stable Cottage, has a National Accessibility rating of M2. There are no telephones in the cottages and mobile phone reception is variable depending on the service provider.

Shopping and Eating Out

For shopping you’ll find the village post office stores in Plumpton Green and there’s also a village shop in Wivelsfield Green. Both are barely a mile from Heath Farm. There is a Waitrose supermarket just 3 miles away in Burgess Hill, and there are plenty of their competitors there and in Haywards Heath (5 miles) and Lewes (7 miles). If you prefer not to travel to do your shopping, all the supermarkets offer their standard delivery services.

There are many local pubs. The Plough Inn (01273 890311) just 500m up the road serves, simple pub food and has extensive grounds, ideal for families with young children. The Half Moon (01273 890253) at the Southern edge of the village also has grounds suitable for families.

We have some wonderful restaurants, not just the cosmopolitan selection in Lewes and the other nearby towns, but also closer at hand, with fine dining at The Jolly Sportsman at East Chiltington (01273 890400) and The Blacksmith’s Arms at Offham (01273 472971) or traditional pub food at The Bull Inn at Newick (01825 722055)
